January 2021 to Present: Clerk Forlini continues to serve as the Macomb County Clerk / Register of Deeds.

As a State Representative (2011-2016)

• 100% voting attendance over 6 years, never missed a vote.
• In 6 years I have had over 62 bills introduced with over 96% of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle voting in favor of my bills.
• As a member of the Appropriations Committee, we worked to eliminate Michigan’s $1.5B structural deficit and reduce long-term liabilities
• Chair of the Committee on Financial Services.  Also a member of the Committees on Natural Resources, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation and Families, Children and Seniors.
• Provided a legal framework for managing digital assets when someone expires or is incapacitated
• Started the conversation and passed bills into laws regarding drug abuse that gives our kids a second chance. Saving lives across the state.
• Authored language for the Michigan ABLE Act that is now law allowing parents of disabled children to save for future needs.
• Made numerous updates to Michigan’s Election Law improving the operation of elections in Michigan. My bill required continuing education for clerks, ensuring uniform deadlines for keeping election-related materials.
• House Bill 4653 and 4656 Protected the sanctity of the ballot box for elections. Prior to these bills being signed into law, elected officials would prominently display their names on absentee ballots and polling locations.
• In 2013, I led a bipartisan Macomb County group of bills that cleaned up the recall process of elected officials. A total of six bipartisan bills were introduced and passed.

​As Harrison Township Supervisor (2004-2011), we:

• Eliminated waste and streamlined government to assure tax dollars were allocated to residents’ priorities
• Secured grants to eliminate invasive species that are threatening the health of our waterfront
• Preserved green space and bike path funding without increasing taxes
• Worked with volunteers to establish Harrison Township’s first library
• Championed a single waste hauler for the Township, saving money for residents and saving local roads

As a Macomb County business owner for over 35 years:

• I understand the burden of taxation on local business and the challenge of job creation
• I helped individuals and small business owners to reach their financial goals as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™
